What to Expect from P-Shot Therapy

Calla Genics' P-Shot procedure starts by extracting the patient's blood and concentrating the blood's healing factors (like stem cells and other growth factors). From there, the patient's white and red blood cells are separated in a centrifuge, which spins the blood at high speeds until it separates. From there, the patient's concentrated healing factors are injected into their penile region.

Calla Genics' P-Shot treatment is hassle-free and pain-free and can usually be completed in less than an hour right here at our P-shot clinic in Lantana.

P-Shot Therapy and Botox for Erectile Dysfunction

For men with serious cases of erectile dysfunction, Calla Genics offers our P-Shot with the added bonus of Botox for increased effectiveness. We know what you're thinking: "Isn't Botox meant for women? I don't care about the wrinkles on my face; I just want help with my ED."

While it's true that Botox is most commonly associated with female anti-wrinkle treatment, researchers believe it can help with male ED as well. Botox—which is technically a bacterial toxin with the name botulinum—smooths out wrinkles by blocking nerve impulses that cause muscle contractions.

That same mechanism may help men achieve erections. Botox can interrupt the release of norepinephrine, which restricts blood flow. But it doesn't affect the release of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is a crucial element in achieving an erection since it relaxes smooth muscle and causes blood to engorge the penis.

Because of the nature of Botox, research shows that it may give men enhanced erections for months. Older men with particularly severe ED may see the most significant improvements. As an added bonus, Botox may work for males who have physiological erectile dysfunction (caused by blood flow issues) and psychogenic ED (triggered by physiological factors).

P-Shot Treatment for Peyronie's Disease

While the P-Shot can work wonders for men experiencing performance and erectile issues, the P-Shot has other uses. One of the most important and revolutionary issues the P-Shot treats is called Peyronie's disease.

Found in nearly 10% of all men in the U.S., Peyronie's disease is a common problem that can affect a man's sexual activity and sex life. Essentially, Peyronie's disease is the medical label used to describe an abnormal curve or bend in a patient's penis. Though it's very common for a man to have a slight bend in their penis, men suffering from Peyronie's disease experience significant pain, especially when trying to achieve an erection. Because of the nature of the disease, Peyronie's is linked to male erectile dysfunction.

Peyronie's disease is often caused by a previous injury or damage to a man's penis via sexual intercourse or physical activity. Some of the most common symptoms of Peyronie's disease include:

  • Painful Erections
  • Unusually Soft Erections
  • Extreme Penis Curvature
  • Significant Difficulty Having Sexual Intercourse
  • Lumps Found in the Penis

Living with Peyronie's disease makes life quite difficult. Unfortunately, we're discovering that this malady is more prevalent than we once thought. That's probably because more and more men are coming forward to talk about their ED. We understand if you're suffering from Peyronie's disease but are reluctant to speak to a professional due to embarrassment. However, if you're sick and tired of living with Peyronie's and want to reclaim your sex life, Calla Genics' P-Shot may be the long-term solution you need.

The alternative to the P-Shot involves "traditional" treatments like penile stretching devices and penile implants, which sometimes involve vacuum technology and invasive procedures. If you're cringing a little just reading those words, Calla Genics' P-Shot is the way to go for Peyronie's disease treatment.

How Fast Does the P-Shot Work?

Results vary for every patient, but in general, many men discover relief soon after their first P-Shot treatment. If you're a man struggling to achieve and keep an erection, Calla Genics' P-Shot should help you almost immediately. Other enhancements, like more penis girth and size, can take longer.

What Side Effects Should I Know About?

Because our P-Shot treatment in Lantana uses a patient's own blood, there is no risk for harmful side effects or allergic reactions. It's a pain-free treatment that we perform right here at our male sexual health center, and is usually over in 30 minutes or less.

How Much Does Calla Genics' P-Shot Cost?

Pricing varies depending on our patient's needs. Compared to other erectile dysfunction treatments, P-Shot therapy is relatively inexpensive. Since there are no oral medications or pills to take, patients don't have to worry about refilling prescriptions. The P-Shot is also much less expensive than surgical options, which require multiple doctor's appointments, follow-ups, and more.

The Benefits of Combining Gainswave and P-Shot Therapy in Lantana, FL

Studies published via the International Society for Sexual Medicine found that Gainswave treatments display significant, positive results that can last as long as 12 months. And while low-intensity shockwave therapy is proven to provide significant improvement in erectile function, Gainswave doesn't have to be used all on its own.

For the most effective male enhancement treatment, many men are combining Calla Genics' Gainswave therapy with our P-Shot treatments. These two revolutionary ED treatments feed off one another to provide a doubly-beneficial effect. In medicine, we call it a synergistic effect.

The platelet-rich plasma from the P-Shot can help open up a patient's blood vessels in their penis. This can actually enhance the effectiveness of Gainswave therapy. Conversely, Gainswave treatments can help stimulate healing factors used in the P-Shot, essentially sending PRP deeper into a patient's damaged penis tissue.

Our Bocox™ Treatment

It is recommended to receive this treatment by a specially trained physician much like Calla Genics' very own Dr. Tiffany. A single Bocox™ treatment can combat erectile dysfunction, ridding your need of having to take Viagra or any surgical procedures.

How Bocox™ Can Help You!

Here at Calla Genics, we have now been doing the P-Shot® procedure for years with much success and with a significant body of medical research that supports the procedure. In the studies below, you will notice that we have added units of BOTOX, which the recommended dose showed effectiveness up to 6 months with maximal effect at 6 weeks.

The mechanism of action of BOTOX in the penis seems to be partly due to the relaxation of the smooth muscle of the arterioles, resulting in increased blood flow (and even in a small increase in length in one study). This increase in erection firmness by increasing arterial flow is exactly how Viagra and Tri-mix injections work. In two separate studies, the injection of BOTOX was helpful to some men (not all) for whom Viagra and Cialis had quit working.

BOTOX, at much higher doses, has been used for 2 decades for various problems with an extremely safe history. The P-Shot 100™ procedure is a specific method of injecting blood-derived growth factors, including platelet-rich plasma (or platelet-rich fibrin matrix) and botulinum neurotoxin, to improve the health of the penis and enhance the size or function of the penis. The procedure includes patient selection, method of preparation of materials, method of injection, aftercare, and more.

Suppose someone wants Botox alone injected into the penis. In that case, we have the Bocox™ (BoPriapus) procedure: a specific method of injecting the corpus cavernosi of the penis with botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT)–BOTOX– to improve penile tissue health and to enhance erectile function or penis size.

Our Guarantee: You will see results. If you are not pleased with the results of your procedure for any reason, you can get a full refund for the procedure for up to 3 months.

Multifamily giant Morgan Group could redevelop a former Kmart store in Lantana into an apartment complex.

The Town Council will consider the rezoning and site plan on the evening of July 11 for the 18.6-acre site at 1201 and 1301 S. Dixie Highway, plus 457 Greynolds Circle. It currently has a vacant 84,350-square-foot retail box that Kmart left in 2019, a 68,836-square-foot retail building anchored by Winn-Dixie and 11,765 square feet of retail for multiple tenants.

The property was acquired by Lantana SDC LLC, an affiliate of Miami-based Saglo Development Corp., for $10.2 million in 2017. However, the application states the Kmart parcel at 1201 S. Dixie Highway is under contract to Houston-based Morgan Group and is slated for redevelopment.

The other two retail buildings would remain, as Winn-Dixie and some other tenants have long-term leases, according to the application.

The property was approved for “mixed use” zoning in 2019 with the potential for 279 apartments. But now that it’s clear only the Kmart parcel could be redeveloped, the property owner wants the zoning changed to permit 231 apartments on just that part of the land.

Lantana Village would have five buildings of four stories each, plus a clubhouse and a pool. There would be 442 surface parking spaces. The entrance would be from Greynolds Circle.

The developer said the project would cost about $65 million to build.

With 157,413 square feet of leasable space, the units would range from 585 to 1,242 square feet. There would be 51 studio apartments, 105 one-bedroom apartments, and 74 two-bedroom apartments.

In addition, the developer said it would perform renovations and façade improvements to the remaining shopping center.

“Placing a residential development within walking distance to commercial uses that conveniently serve the surrounding neighborhood, such as a grocery store, restaurants, retail, and personal services, creates a sense of community and will retain the ‘small town’ character that Lantana is known for,” the developer stated in the application.

Fort Lauderdale-based attorney Cushla Talbut, who represents the developer in the application, couldn’t be reached for comment. Miami-based MSA Architects designed the project.

While the retail market in South Florida has outperformed much of the nation, it can still be difficult to replace a big-box retailer like Kmart. Apartment rents are rising rapidly, so the land is likely worth more as multifamily than retail.

LANTANA, Fla. — The strong storms that blew through Florida over the weekend are proving costly for some business owners in Palm Beach County.

Cleanup was underway Monday in Riviera Beach and Lantana as frustration grows over derelict and unoccupied boats

Those affected said hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damages occurred over the weekend due to the boats crashing into other vessels, scratching paint and damaging motors and docks.

The gusty winds sent derelict boats crashing into a dock at the Old Key Lime House in Lantana.

"These bum boats broke free through the storm and came through and destroyed my concrete dock, causing about $50,000 worth of damage," Old Key Lime House owner Ryan Cordero said. "It's scary."

Cordero said this isn't the first time something like this has occurred. He said this happens several times a year and he is always left paying for the repairs.

"These guys don't have insurance," Cordero said. "Last year during a storm, another one of these boats broke free, smashed into my dock that he tied up to and absolutely obliterated it."

Licensed captain Todd Goggins said, like Cordero, he's had several issues with derelict boats over the years, causing hundreds of dollars worth of damages.

"In the case that happened yesterday, a boat broke loose and slammed into the back of the motors," Goggins said. "I don't know how much damage is going to be there."

Goggins said the boats prove costly to others and also pose serious safety hazards as many vessels are not correctly connected to docks and sink during storms.

"Creating an environmental issue and a hazard and navigation issue," Goggins said. "We go out to our boats overnight, or the next day, we could possibly run them over, and now we're in trouble."

WPTV contacted several city leaders in the area to ask what could be done to reduce the number of derelict boats in the water. However, WPTV did not receive comment back Monday evening.

However, Cordero tells WPTV that it's hard to track who owns or operates them.

Florida is known for lush, jungle-like landscapes that feature exotic plants and colorful blooms year-round. But its important to note that not all plants are good plants. In fact, Florida’s ecosystems are plagued by hundreds of invasive plant species that can cause serious problems for native plants and wildlife.

Here are 10 of the most problematic invasive plants in Florida.

1. SKUNKVINE

Paederia foetida, also called “skunkvine” is a thornless, woody vine that can grow up to 30 feet from a single root system and can climb trees, shrubs or anything else it encounters. As the name suggests, this invasive weed also stinks to high heaven. Skunkvine can be found in at least 17 counties in central and north Florida.

Skunkvine can weigh down tree limbs to the point that they break, and its leaves block out light, starving vegetation on the ground. It was introduced to Hernando County from Asia sometime around 1897 and labeled a Category 1 species on the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council’s List of Invasive Species in 1993.

2. BRAZILIAN PEPPER

Schinus terebinthifolius, or Brazilian pepper trees, are relatives of poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac. Contact with its leaves can cause a rash in people sensitive to its itch-inducing cousins. If that’s not bad enough, some people have also reported respiratory problems associated with the plants’ bloom period.

It was brought to Florida from Brazil (or Argentina or Paraguay) in the mid-1800s for use in gardens as an ornamental shrub, largely because of its festive red berries. It thrived in the state’s warm climate and quickly spread beyond garden gates and into the native landscape.

These days, Brazilian pepper infests more than 700,000 acres in Florida and is one of the most aggressive and widespread non-native plants. It can be found as far north as St. Johns County and as far west as Santa Rosa County.

Brazilian pepper crowds out native plants and provides a poor habitat for wildlife. It’s illegal to cultivate, transplant or transport these nuisance shrubs in Florida.

3. AUSTRALIAN PINE

In Florida, “Australian pine” refers to several species of trees belonging to the genus Casuarina. Despite the name, these evergreens are not pine trees at all, but they are native to Australia and southeast Asia.

Australian pines grow quickly and spread aggressively. They love sandy, salty and swampy places and will quickly colonize areas where native trees have been destroyed by hurricanes. They’ve also invaded South Florida’s hammock islands.

Because these trees have very shallow root systems, they tend to topple over in storms that native trees can easily withstand, which poses a threat to homes, people and evacuation routes during hurricanes. And Australian pines don’t support as many species of birds and wildlife as the native trees they’re crowding out.

4. MELALEUCA TREE

Towering melaleuca trees (that’s pronounced “mel-ah-LOO-cah” if you’ve never heard it spoken before) are native to Australia — where, ironically, they’re a cherished and protected native species. In Florida, not so much.

These trees just love the wet, nutrient-packed Everglades. So much so that some parts of our treasured glades have become vast, impenetrable forests of melaleuca trees. The wildlife there, which has evolved to live in the mostly-treeless ecosystem that comprises the native landscape, has no use for these huge trees. What’s more, melaleuca is highly flammable and its spread has increased the threat of wildfires in the areas it has colonized.

The rapid spread of the melaleuca forests threatens to drastically and permanently change the ecology of the Everglades.

5. OLD WORLD CLIMBING FERN

The Old World climbing fern, or Lygodium microphyllum, is another nuisance invader from down under. Much like skunkweed, this exotic fern’s fronds climb over everything, weighing down, crushing and shading out native plants.

Old World climbing fern was first introduced in Martin County in 1965. It now infests more than 200,000 acres in South and Central Florida. It enjoys our state’s warm and moist climate and thrives where bald cypress stands, mangrove communities and sawgrass marshes would normally grow. In the Everglades, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reports some tree islands have been completely smothered by Old World climbing fern.

6. WATER HYACINTH

If you’ve ever driven along a highway through Florida’s wetlands and you saw a perfectly level “meadow” covered with lush green plants boasting lavender flowers, you probably weren’t looking at land at all, but a pond covered with water hyacinth. Scientifically called Eichhornia crassipes, this floating plant is originally from South America.

In Florida, water hyacinth clogs canals and drainage channels, and overruns lakes ponds and slow-moving rivers. The plants on the surface block out the sunlight that feeds biologically-important aquatic grasses.

7. JAPANESE HONEYSUCKLE

Lonicera japonica, or Japanese honeysuckle, is popular in landscapes all over the eastern U.S., where it’s used as a ground cover to control erosion along highways, and in gardens. The downside is that it’s a climbing vine and will cover and choke anything in its way. In Florida’s complex and delicate ecosystems, Japanese honeysuckle can cause big problems.

The blooms have an attractive fragrance (and produce an edible nectar), but the sap can make humans sick or even kill cats and dogs. Despite this, the cultivation of Japanese honeysuckle is not prohibited in Florida.

8. LANTANA

Lantana camara, sometimes called “shrub verbena” is prized by gardeners for its brightly-colored flowers, but Florida farmers will tell you it’s a serious pest. This species is native to the West Indies and has successfully out-competed Florida’s native Lantana depressa variety to the point that the latter is listed as endangered.

Lantana decreases the productivity of the citrus groves and pastures where it likes to grow, and it’s toxic to cattle, pets and sometimes people. The plant is part of the poisonous Verbenacaea family and produces pentacyclic triterpenoids or toxins that attack the liver.

Growing lantana in your garden is not prohibited in Florida, though gardeners with pets or young children should consider a safer, native alternative like golden canna.

9. ROSARY PEA

Native to India, Abrus precatorius, or rosary pea, was introduced in Florida as an ornamental plant. The seeds contain abrin, which is one of the deadliest toxins in the world. Rosary pea is now found throughout Central and Southern Florida.

Like other climbing vines, rosary pea displaces native plants by competing for water and sunlight, and it can smother smaller native species. It readily colonizes areas that have been cleared by brush fires, preventing the regrowth of native species and further disrupting wildlife habitats.

10. CAMPHOR TREE

Camphor trees, or Cinnamomum camphorae, are large, attractively bulbous trees that are native to East Asia. You can identify them by their pointy leaves and shiny, berry-like fruit that turns dark purple or black as it ripens. These trees have been used ornamentally in Western gardens since the 18th century.

In Florida, you’ll find camphor trees in the Northern and Central counties, where they’ve become a nuisance. Happy to grow in salty marshes and sandy soil, camphor trees have been edging out native pines, cypress and hammocks.

Camphor berries and most parts of the tree are poisonous to humans and pets.
